Who we are

Hi! I'm Cara, owner of Safe and Sound Pet Sitting. I've been caring for pets across the country since 2014, and I'm excited to bring that experience home to the Charlottesville area.

My background in animal care runs deep—I've worked in veterinary hospitals, kennels, and animal rescues, which has given me hands-on experience with just about every situation you can imagine. Over the years, I've had the privilege of caring for all kinds of animals—from playful puppies to senior cats, from farm animals to special needs pets who need extra attention and patience. Every pet is unique, and I love tailoring care to fit their individual personalities and routines.

I've learned that pets do best when the only thing that changes is the person providing them care. Your pets get to stay in their own home with familiar sights, sounds, and smells—no stressful travel, no unfamiliar kennels. And your home stays secure too! We take care of mail, plants, and keeping things looking lived-in.
